Support for our Parents

By now you have heard about the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

At present the fear and uncertainty caused by the coronavirus is being felt by everyone around the world. The circumstances surrounding COVID-19 are changing rapidly and daily.

We have set up this blog to provide and support our mums attending baby group and tums to mums with up-to-date information, as soon as it becomes available along with different support, activities and ideas on how to keep positive to keep you and your babies health in this very difficult time.

Easy 5 minute activity:

To help keep you and your little one busy you can make this at home bubble toy.

You will need:

•one sock

•plastic bottle

•washing up liquid

Instructions:

1. Cut bottom of the plastic bottle to create a hole

2. Put sock over the hole

3. Dip the sock side into the washing up liquid

4. Children can blow into the cap at the top and from the bottom the bubbles will appear

Young Parents Project

Are you a young parent thinking about making changes but don’t know how, when or where to start?

Our Young Parents Project can help!

 

On our Young Parents project we run sessions all year round from health and wellbeing activities as well as our 8 week employability courses covering sessions on CV’s, job support and up to date information on university applications, college and employer expectations.

If you are interested in parent and child activities then Teeny Weenies is starting on Tuesday 12th February between 10 and 11am. Our third employability programme will also be starting on Wednesday 13th February at 1:15pm. Accountable to: Positive Family Futures Manager

Contract:  Full Time – 35 hours £22,265 per annum funded until January 2020

Role: Volunteer Support Worker

We are seeking to recruit a new team member to support the delivery of our Positive Family Futures programme – an innovative project that provides an opportunity to join up a range of services for families and individuals within them living in the NE Glasgow communities. The aim of the project is to encourage participants to make positive changes within their own lives and become co-producers of the services.

We are looking for a Volunteer Support Worker who will support a service user involvement group as well as identifying and encouraging individuals to take up relevant volunteering opportunities.

Our mission is to increase life chances through learning for children, young people and adults living in Royston and wider Glasgow area.
